Simplicity

Plain-spoken words
Delivered on cue
Perhaps, too fancy after all
Even for you

Simplicity reigns
Through complexities pores
Streaking the windows
While locking the doors

It isn't as hard
As your mind might pretend
All the clues are straight-forward
If you can follow their bend

So furrow your brow
And confound if you must
Words fancy or plain
All get covered in dust

The Days of Wine & Roses

The days of wine and roses
Are soon coming to an end
The money's gone and time is short
Will you still be my friend?

Yes, the days of wine and roses
Are few and far between
The burden's weight increases
I'm now a person barely seen

The days of wine and roses
A lofty time indeed
My sorry life has run its course
A fertile field of weed
